Sedley, 2019, by Olivier Cresp with Hamid Merati-Kashani, is the house's fresh aromatic — mint and citrus over a watery, mineral heart.

Lemon, mint, bergamot, grapefruit and mandarin open it with real lift, and the mint is prominent rather than decorative. Lavender, rosemary, geranium and olibanum follow, and the base is ambroxan, sandalwood, cedar, cashmeran, vetiver and patchouli. The brand's own line is that the citrus sets off the power of the mint, which is a fair description.
