Roses Greedy

Pierre Montale composed Roses Greedy in 2012, and the name is honest about it. Rose sits at the heart with jasmine and other white flowers, but the opening is all fruit and cream: peach, black currant, mandarin and a coconut note, with pink pepper for bite.

Sugar, vanilla, benzoin and amber build a frankly gourmand base, white musk smoothing it out. The result is a rose dessert rather than a garden rose, loud in the room and long on the skin. Best in cool weather and on evenings when you want to be noticed.
