Noir is the darkest of the Lacoste L.12.12 polo-shirt series, and the twist is in the base. It opens on a watermelon accord — juicy, almost saline — then moves through basil, verbena and lavender, and finishes on a dark chocolate accord with cashmeran, coumarin and patchouli.

Fresh fruit over bitter cocoa is an odd combination on paper and a good one on skin: aromatic and clean to begin with, warmer and more unusual after an hour. Launched in 2013.
