Scandal For Women

Scandal is a honey fragrance, which is rarer than it sounds and much harder to balance. Blood orange and mandarin open it clean and tart, and then the honey arrives with gardenia, orange blossom, jasmine and peach around it.

What stops it cloying is the base: beeswax and caramel pulled earthy by patchouli, with licorice adding a dry, slightly bitter edge. A chypre floral from 2017, warm and unmistakable, and one of the few honey scents that works as well in the afternoon as at night.
