Alberto Morillas built this one on contrast. Cardamom and sandalwood arrive together, ginger, juniper and galangal add a dry spicy snap, and tobacco blossom, green leaves and teak wood close it out: smooth, woody, faintly sweet, never sharp.

Restrained in projection and refined enough for the office, with steady wear across a working day. Spring and fall suit it best. Released in 2001, and it still reads mature without reading dated.
